This list is not exhaustive and it may
change from person to person. An adult should have a concept
of what sin is but a child might not understand. If you are
speaking to a person who grew up in the church versus a
person who has never stepped foot within a church, you
should understand that there will be different levels of
understanding of some of these terms.
The point this list should get across
is that not everyone understands the terminology we
sometimes use when evangelizing. If you wish to use a
difficult term, be sure to explain thoroughly. Jesus often
used terms that were misunderstood by his hearers but he
went on to further explain what he meant. See Jesus
conversation with Nicodemus in John 3 and his conversation
with the Samaritan woman in John 4 for examples of this.
